Reasons People Book This Route

Bloomington is close enough that everyone drives it, and far enough that on certain days nobody wants to. Those are the days worth booking a car for.

IU Football and Basketball

Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers won the Big Ten in 2025 and demand for game weekends has climbed with it. A February night game is not a drive most groups want to make twice, which is exactly when the return leg matters.

Graduation Weekends

May commencement fills every hotel between Bloomington and Indianapolis. Families travel in groups, often from the airport, and parking on campus that weekend is close to impossible. This is our busiest Bloomington date by a distance.

Move-In and Parents Weekend

August move-in and the autumn parents weekend bring the same problem: several family members, a lot of luggage, and a campus that cannot absorb the traffic. One vehicle beats three cars following each other down SR-37.

Little 500 and Campus Events

April race weekend, homecoming, and the concerts and events that fill the calendar in between. Drinking days where nobody should be driving an hour home afterwards.

The hour each way

Why Not Just Drive

The Return Leg Is the Problem

An hour down is fine. An hour back at eleven at night in February, after a game, is the part people underestimate. SR-37 in winter weather is the single most common reason groups book this route.

Nobody Draws the Short Straw

Game days and graduation dinners are drinking days. The usual arrangement is one person staying sober and resenting it for sixty miles. With a chauffeur the whole group has the same day.

Campus Parking

Bloomington on a game day or graduation weekend has nowhere to put your car. Being dropped at the venue and collected from an agreed point removes the part of the trip nobody plans for.

Two Hours You Get Back

An hour each way in the back of a Sprinter or an SUV is usable time. For families travelling together it is also the only part of the day everyone is in the same place.

Vehicles for the Drive Down

Group size decides most of it, and for Bloomington so does luggage — move-in and graduation trips carry a lot of it.

Photographs show vehicles from our fleet. Interiors are refreshed periodically and vehicles are rotated through service, so the finish of the vehicle supplied may differ in detail from the images here. Capacity and vehicle class are confirmed when you book.

The route

SR-37 and the Timing

Indianapolis to Bloomington is around an hour on SR-37 in normal conditions, less from the southern suburbs. We dispatch from Johnson County, which puts us on the right side of the metro before the trip starts.

Game days and graduation weekends are not normal conditions. Campus roads close, parking fills hours ahead, and the exit afterwards is slow. We plan the departure around when you need to be there rather than around the map estimate.

Pickups run from anywhere in Central Indiana, including Indianapolis International for families flying in. Multiple addresses on one booking are common for graduation groups and worked into the route rather than charged separately.

From the very start Indy Executive Limo was easy to work with. Our driver, GP, showed patience, flexibility and kindness. This is our second year using this company and their service has been consistently excellent.

The bus was clean, comfortable, spacious, rode smooth, and was stocked with plenty of goodies. Our driver was on time, professional, and overall a good time. I felt safe while still being able to let loose and enjoy myself.

Booked a van for a wine tour. Mitch, the driver, had hangover kits for everyone. He took us to four different wineries and we had a great time. Cannot wait to do another one.

Common questions

Bloomington Transfer FAQ

How long does the drive take?

Around an hour each way on SR-37 in normal traffic, less from the southern suburbs. Game days and graduation weekends need more, and we plan the departure around your arrival time rather than the map estimate.

Can you do a day trip?

Yes, and most groups do. Down for the game or the ceremony and back the same day, with the vehicle held for you in between if you need it. Nobody has to drive, so the return leg is not a problem however late it runs.

Do you cover graduation weekends?

Yes, and it is our busiest Bloomington date. Book early — May commencement fills every vehicle in Central Indiana, not just ours.

Can you collect from the airport?

Yes. Families flying in for graduation or a game are collected from Indianapolis International and taken straight to Bloomington, with flight tracking included.

How much luggage can you take?

Tell us how many bags as well as how many people. Move-in weekends carry a lot, and the Suburban or a Sprinter handles it comfortably where a smaller vehicle would not.

Do you go to other cities?

Yes. Louisville, Cincinnati and Chicago are our other regular long-distance routes.
